In 1937 the Model 37 arrived on the scene produced in Ithaca, NY less than 125 miles from Ilion. At first glance the 20-gauge guns appear the same as the Remington Model 17, but several refinements were added. Over time the Model 37 gained in popularity and the Model 17 was never reintroduced. Ithaca Gun produced Model 37’s in 20, 16 and 12 gauges and became the most popular pump gun in the country. Production in Ithaca ceased in 1986. Started again in Kings Ferry, NY in 1987 and then moved to Upper Sandusky, Ohio where the guns are still made today.
